Our unique ability to bring together people with the minds and the means to take real action on critical issues. In 2013, the Institute convened 125 separate events, with more than 11,000 participants. These range from our trademark Global Conference, to meetings of our Global Capital Markets Advisory Council, to workshops of nonprofit disease foundations through the Research Acceleration and Innovation Network. Our DC-based Center for Financial Markets held regular congressional staff briefings and policy roundtables, and our Milken Institute Fellows in Israel met often to review their work on economic development. Gatherings of Milken Institute Associates, at Global Conference and elsewhere, connected them with innovative leaders — and each other. Milken Institute Forums, open to the public, brought inspiring speakers and thought-provoking authors to our Santa Monica headquarters. |».Global Conference Global Conference Our 2013 Global Conference brought more than 3,000 leaders to Los Angeles, from 45 states and 50 countries, to take part in one of the world's premier meetings for business, finance, philanthropy and policy.
