June 1, 2012 Mr. Richard Barnett 9 East 71" Street New York, NY Office Dear Richard: Sawyers is pleased to present to you the following proposal for upgrading the current Fire Alarm Systems for Mr. Epstein’s Residence at 9 East 71* Street in New York. Sawyers intends to replace both of the existing Radionics Panels with a single new panel from Honeywell. The Honeywell panel will combine both the Smoke Alarm Panel and the Sprinkler Alarm Panel into one coherent and integrated system. We will utilize the points list provided, plus our own preliminary survey to map a list of Initiation Points to trigger the existing Bell/Horn Strobe Loop. All Smoke, Duct, Heat or Carbon Monoxide Sensors will be replaced with new models. As often as possible we will place the upgraded sensors at their existing location and also try to ensure that a minimum of patching and/or painting will be required. Any patching or painting will be by others. Sawyers will be installing this system and will work with Vinny Buono from Lareto Electric to ensure that the License Holder meets or exceeds all NYC code requirements. Sawyers will need to create drawings for the implementation of this upgrade, for potential filing with the city of New York (Confirm if you plan to file permits) and for “As Builts” upon the completion of the project for your own internal records. If you have Architectural Prints of the Residence in a CAD format, it would be extremely helpful. Our plan is to replace the Main Radionics Panel with a Honeywell Vista 128 BPT Panel. This panel can support 128 zones (Your records show approximately 40 existing zones with approximately 60 Smokes, 8 Heats and 3 Gas Alarms) Sawyers will try and install Carbon Monoxide Detectors within Close Proximity of all Bedrooms. We will use a combination of Polling Loop Modules combined with 2-wire Smoke Detection Loop Modules to essentially replicate the current sensing topology. We can’t put in Point by Point Sensor ID modules as the building is wired with single strands of THHN wire. There is no “twist” to these wires and using polling modules at each sensor would have questionable reliability. Upon the completion of this project, all of the Detector Points would be replaced with new sensors. We will be adding numerous Polling Modules, we will rewire and replace the Panels and clean up the existing wiring. All Sprinkler Flows and Fire Pump and Tampers will be tied into the system and tested. Any devices on the Sprinkler System itself that may need repairs or replacement are outside the scope of this proposal. (Repairs provided by Sprinkler Contractor) Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions. Sincerely, Tom Callahan President, Sawyers EFTA00287121
