U.S. Department of Justice United States Attorney Southern District of Florida 500 South Australian Ave., Suite 400 West Palm Beach, FL 33401 Pe rcnil: i November 14, 2008 VIA FEDERAL EXPRESS Katherine Ezell, Esq. Podhurst Orseck, P.A. City National Bank Building 25 West Flagler Street, Suite 800 Miami, FL 33130 Re: Representation of Victims of Jeffrey Epstein Dear Kathy: As per my voicemail, | have enclosed the following: 1. two additional victim notification letters; 2. the complaint | received from the Florida Bar; and 3. the opinion letter that I received from the Florida Bar. As I mentioned in my voicemail, | think we should discuss the Bar issue before you send your letter. Regarding your request for a photograph, lawyers for both the defendant and the victims in this case have filed FOIA requests with our office and the FBI, which we are fighting based upon the pendency of the investigation. Turning over the photograph to you would undercut our position, so I would recommend that you contact one of Mr. Epstein’s attorneys to obtain a photograph. It is my understanding that they received from the State Attorney’s Office copies of all of the photographs taken by the Palm Beach Police Department when the search warrant was executed. If they are unable or unwilling to give you a photograph, please let me know. The agents have checked their notes regarding their last contact with victim . It was several months ago, immediately following her miscarriage. the FBI’s Victim Services Coordinator, contacted and the other victims in the September time frame to inform them of the resolution of the case. They are unaware of any other FBI contact. Now that I have received the Bar opinion letter, I will follow up with J and , as we previously discussed. Sincerely, R.
