applying a (b)(7)(a) to all of Jeffrey Epstein requests. Instead of sending a formal Pending Questions EC in sentinel, we just wanted to do a follow up to see if a B7A is still ok to go out with? This letter advises “material you requested is located in an investigative file which is exempt from disclosure. ..to the extent the production of such law enforcement records or information could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.” It is an acknowledgment that material responsive to the subject of the request, Epstein’s Client List, is located in a pending file. However, this letter is purposefully vague: it doesn’t discuss which field office the investigation is based out of, whether the subject of the FOIA request is a main or a reference in the investigation, the focus of the investigation, etc. I have attached a copy of the b7a letter for you to take a look at.
