I say "should" because if the actual file was among those destroyed by Sandy, then obviously we are SOL on getting content. Either way, it should have been indexed, so there should be a record that there was an FD-71 with a complainant's name and info, etc., but that is of course assuming someone actually did index it and it got properly filed. FBI NY determined did contact the FBI in 1996 and an FD-71 was drafted. As this document is not maintained electronically, FBI NY is making efforts to obtain the FD-71 from closed files.
