FBI Reportedly “Angling” For Prince Andrew Interview. (11/24, Fordham, 1.73M) reports, “The FBI is angling to interview Prince Andrew because of his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Times of London reported. ‘There's been active discussions between the FBI and Department of Justice about interviewing Prince Andrew in relation to the Jeffrey Epstein case,’ a Justice Department source told The Sunday Times. ‘If he agrees to an interview, he could potentially provide some very unique and helpful insights and make a considerable difference to the investigation,’ the source said." According to Fox Business, “The FBI's alleged interest in talking to the prince comes amid a report that he secretly met with Ghislaine Maxwell, his friend and Epstein's companion who's been accused of bringing underage girls to him, in June." The (11/24, 1.39M) also reports. Barr Acknowledges Being Initially Skeptical That Epstein Killed Himself. The AP (11/22) reports Attorney General Barr “said he initially had his own suspicions about financier Jeffrey Epstein's death while behind bars at one of the most secure jails in America but came to conclude that his suicide was the result of ‘a perfect storm of screw-ups.” According to the AP, Barr says “his concerns were prompted by the numerous irregularities at the New York jail where Epstein was being held. But he said after the FBI and the Justice Department's inspector general continued to investigate, he realized there were a ‘series’ of mistakes made that gave Epstein the chance to take his own life.” Barr is quoted as saying, “| can understand people who immediately, whose minds went to sort of the worst-case scenario because it was a perfect storm of screw-ups.” (11/22, Singman, 27.59M) reports, “In August, following Epstein’s death, Barr vowed a comprehensive probe by the FBI and Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, amid disturbing revelations from lawyers and others who said failings at the prison had been ignored for years. Now, months into an investigation, Barr says federal investigators have realized there were a ‘series’ of mistakes made that gave Epstein the chance to take his own life." Fox News adds that last week, “during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, the director of the Bureau of Prisons, Kathleen Hawk Sawyer, who described Epstein’s death as a ‘black eye on the entire Bureau of Prisons,’ testified that FBI investigators probing Epstein’s death are looking into whether a ‘criminal enterprise’ may have played a role." According to the (11/22, Benner, 18.61M), “Epstein's death in August at a federal detention center in Manhattan set off a rash of unfounded conspiracy theories on social media that were picked up and repeated by high-profile figures, including Mayor Bill de Blasio and former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani.” The Times adds, “No matter their ideology, the refrain of the theories was the same: Something did not add up.” (11/22, story 12, 0:18, Muir, 6.22M) provided similar coverage in a brief broadcast.
