EE. a On August 10, Epstein committed suicide at the MCC. The investigation into Epstein’s co-conspirators continues. In particular, we have developed considerable evidence regarding the involvement of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, in grooming multiple underage victims for sexual abuse by Epstein in the 1990s and for participating in some of the abuse, as well as I EE, one of Epstein’s assistants, who participated in scheduling massages, setting up the massage room, photographing victims, and paying victims in the early to mid 2000’s. On June 29, 2020 a grand jury returned a six count indictment charging Maxwell for her role in facilitating Epstein’s abuse of minor girls. Maxwell was arrested on July 2 at a residence in New Hampshire and has been detained since. The team made an initial discovery production on or about August 21, 2020, and is working on a second discovery production of electronic materials in the coming month. The team is also working with the USAO-SDFL to review certain materials in their files for Brady or Giglio material. Additionally, the team is in the process of reaching out to counsel for | to begin initial discussions about the possibility of a felony disposition.
